How discounting works at Cloudways
Cloudways is a managed hosting layer over cloud infrastructure providers: you pick a provider and a server size, and Cloudways handles the stack, updates, caching and backups. It sits between cheap shared hosting and running your own server.
Billing is hourly with a monthly cap, which is unusual and useful — you can spin a server up to test and destroy it the same day for a few cents. Promotions are typically a percentage off the first months or free credit, not a permanently lower rate, so price the ongoing cost rather than the promotion.

Right-size after launch, not before
Hourly billing means you can start small and resize when the traffic proves it is needed. Overprovisioning from day one is the common waste.
