DiscoverCars compares car hire across the major companies and a long tail of local suppliers in over a hundred countries, then books you with the supplier. It is a broker, not a hire company, which shapes what can go wrong and who fixes it.
The most consequential decision on the page is the excess insurance. The platform sells its own full-coverage product at a fraction of what the rental desk charges for the equivalent, but it works by reimbursement: you still pay the desk if there is damage, then claim it back. That is a genuine saving and a genuinely different experience from a desk waiver, and knowing which you bought matters.
