It sits between leasing and rental, and it is priced accordingly — more per month than a comparable lease, less commitment and no separate insurance to arrange. The comparison that matters is not against a hire car but against leasing plus insurance plus servicing, on the term you actually want. Mileage allowance is the number that decides whether it works.
